Worlds Top Yachts - The Anson Bell

The HMS Anson was a French navy warship which served the British Royal Navy in the 18th and 19th centuries. When the ship wasn't in battle, it occasionally attended to the British royal family. During a storm in 1807, the Anson wrecked off of the coast of Cornwall, England, and the ship was virtually destroyed. After the loss of the Anson, many changes were made when rebuilding the ship, all placing high emphasis on safety and rescue techniques. Now, 200 years later, the same emphasis was placed on building a ship, only this time it is for pleasure.
Palmer Johnson, an experienced ship builder with a collection of maritime artifacts, including the actual bell from the original Anson, decided to construct his new Anson Bell on American soil. He set out to construct the safest motor yacht ever built, and the 156-foot Palmer Johnson Anson Bell was born.
The yacht not only meets the requirements of the highest level of Lloyd's Register classification, but it exceeds requirements for damage stability and fire resistance. Anson Bell is able to withstand flooding of any two compartments onboard, which adds superior stability to the ship. The Anson Bell has six bulkheads, creating eight separate compartments.
The Anson Bell also meets MCA requirements in terms of fire safety by including all-steel stairs between the decks, and auto-deploying, all-steel fire doors which close off the stairwells. The emphasis on safety doesn't end there. Exterior gates were constructed to block access from certain areas, which includes the main deck, stairs, and the anchor-handling area.
This safety measure is in place for children who frequently ride aboard the vessel. Anson Bell's emphasis isn't solely on safety; there is also a great deal of comfort aboard this super-yacht. The yacht has a master room and four additional guest staterooms (2 twins - 2 full) all with seating areas, plasma televisions, and grand bathrooms. There are a grand total of nine plasma TVs on the Anson Bell.
The ship features more luxury on one deck than most people will see in their lifetime. There is a grand dining hall, a saloon, an entertainment lounge, and the original bell from the Anson makes a spectacular centerpiece onboard the yacht. On the Sun Deck sites the sun lounge, dining tables, observation seats, and a secondary steering station. On the 01 deck, you have the Sky Lounge, captain's quarters, and the pilothouse.
The Main Deck consists of aft-deck dining, the main saloon, formal dining area, galley, and the full-beam master suite. And on the Lower Deck, you can find the lazarette, engineer's quarters, engine room, the four guest rooms, laundry room, and the crew's quarters. This spectacular boat is a one of a kind masterpiece that Palmer loves to show off. The Anson Bell is regularly featured in the top yachting magazines across the world.
