Stick with what works. That's the mantra for millions of property owners who realize that it's far easier to rebuild on an existing structure than to demolish and build from the ground up. Another set of words to live by, “if it's not broken - don't fit it,” is the approach Evergreen yacht owners took when deciding to have their mega-ship refurbished.

The Diana Yacht Design masterpiece Evergreen was a beautiful yacht that stretched over 92 meters from bow to stern. It had a displacement of 2,621 tons, and seemed to float on a cushion of air. Her gorgeous hull was steel, and her higher decks were aluminum - making for a strong and sleek vessel worthy of admiration.

Evergreen displayed an elegant, distinguished profile in the water. The interior components of the ship were outright impeccable and included a grand saloon and a large recreation center with a karaoke bar and full dance floor. The ship contained 14 luxury guest cabins, fully decked-out in lavish comforts and amenities. And when it comes to the master stateroom, the Evergreen's setup rivaled some of the best real estate in the world. All together, the Evergreen was one of the finest yachts to set out upon the open ocean. But after she was sold, the owner decided that Evergreen's many luxuries weren't enough. A massive rebuilding assignment was underway, and Evergreen will soon see a rebirth.

The yacht's owner, who also owns a refurbished yacht, Attessa III, decided to add a number to his collection and rename Evergreen “Attessa IV.” The rebuilding of Attessa IV is being handled by the Vancouver Shipyard, and many intricate plans are already underway in attempts to create a bigger and better product. Among these plans, the owner wishes the increase the ship's length by an estimated 20-30 meters (or more - plans subject to change), and completely redo the beautifully designed inner components of the ship. It is still not sure if the owner plans to gut the framing of the ship entirely, but Vancouver is definitely up for the task if need be.

The Evergreen was built for the chairman of Evergreen Shipping. He took his prized yacht to the Monaco Yacht Show, but kept it docked for most of her life. Since the Evergreen was completed, it's always had a sales tag. Now that she's been purchased, “Evergreen” will parish and Attessa IV will eventually set sail. Evergreen was one of the world's largest yachts at over 90 meters.

Other yachts, like Project Sunflower, Crystal Ball and Dubai come in at over 140 meters. While for sale, Evergreen had an impressive price tag of over $70-million. With her beautiful artwork, lavish furnishings, helicopter pads, Jacuzzis, entertainment areas, a saloon, world-class dining hall, and all the swagger one could possibly take, Evergreen did no one justice while docked. Attessa IV should be a welcomed assault on the senses.
