World's Most Luxury Yachts - Canica by Baltic Yachts

Even though much of the world is high-octane, old-world style still has its own special niche. This is very true in the yacht market, where sailing yachts always manage to stand out as some of the most impressive vessels on the water. Currently for sale is the Canica yacht – a 141-foot luxury sailing yacht built by Baltic Yachts in 2003.
Canica is a very stylish ship, boasting a sleek exterior crafted by R&J Design. Judel-Vrolijk drew up the architectural plans and John Munford meticulously designed the vessel’s interior to be both stylish and spacious, with multiple cabins and many other modern features packed into a quasi-traditional frame.
The goal of Baltic Yachts at the time was to craft a top-of-the-line sailing yacht for the owner with both performance and practicality in mind. Even though the yacht would have a huge mast and other sailing features to operate, the builders didn’t want to forfeit technology with Canica. They integrated the two styles seamlessly.
The technology aspect of the build was integrated via the actual building materials. In order for a sailing yacht of this size to handle like a smaller vessel, the displacement needs to be just right. In other words, the 141-foot yacht needed to weigh about as much as a 100-footer. To accomplish this, state-of-the-art composite materials were used in place of wood and steel.
Not only was the handling in question, but the original owner also wished the yacht to be lighter for docking purposes. Not all docks can accommodate such a large yacht. With the reduced weight, however, Canica is able to be docked at most sailing ports. This is an important feature of Canica, as any potential owner would undoubtedly sail over distance with the vessel.
With all the many features offered aboard Canica, it’s a very expensive sailing yacht to own. The base price is €13.95 million, although any such sale is always open to negotiation.
You won’t find a lot of get up and go with Canica. This yacht is strictly for laid-back cruises and family outings. The yacht is able to get up nearly 20 knots, but its listed top cruising speed is 16 knots. Its superb handling also means that Canica can be navigated through smaller bodies of water as well as on the open ocean.
Because of its sheer size, Canica is able to accommodate up to 10 guests comfortably. The way the vessel’s built in terms of navigation is also imperative. Canica only needs a 5-person crew.
The master cabin is spacious and very comforting. The wood interior brings that old-world yacht style, and the queen-sized bed, seating area and other amenities add to the comfort level. There’s also a large bathroom attached to the master, featuring a large stand-up shower and more.
The guest cabins also boast the same style, though just not as large, and the bathrooms do not have showers. Along with the saloon, galley, and upper deck features, Canica is a feature-rich sailing yacht that stands out as one of the more impressive on the market today.
