World's Most Luxurious Yachts - The 105ft Frer's Bolero

Some of the world’s must luxurious yachts aren’t privately owned. Instead, they’re available to be chartered for a certain weekly or monthly amount. One of the finest charter yachts in the Mediterranean and Caribbean today is the impressive 104-foot German Frers’ sailing yacht, Bolero. For 50,000 Euros per week, anyone can have full use of this notable build.
Bolero stands out as impressive for a few reasons, none the least of which is its massive size. It was redesigned and rebuilt by German Frers and Far Ocean & Bolero Yachts, and the team did a great job of restoring a classic maxi ocean racer theme on a much more modern scale.
Back in the 1940s, Bolero was built for a Newport yachtsman who used the large yacht in many major races of the day. Bolero was considered one of the best ships on the water and even served as the Flagship of the New York City Yacht Club. It reigned for years as the top yacht in its class and developed a very impressive resume.
In 2000, private charters purchased Bolero in hopes of restoring it to prominence and putting it in use as a charter yacht. Bolero is still also used as a racing yacht when not being chartered out.
The massive restoration was completed in 2001 and Bolero had been completely rebuilt from the ground up. A new, more practical design layout was implemented and the best in woods and other materials were used in restoring Bolero. However, instead of using aluminum or composite materials like many popular yachts today, builders stuck with using the classic high-grade wood for construction.
The wood makes the boat a lot heavier and, by consequence, slower than others using composite materials, but the look and comfort level of the wood-laden yacht is far superior to any composite yacht on the waters. Bolero’s use of classic materials has caused a trend in the yacht restoration world. Now more builders are sticking with classic wood and getting away from composite.
Bolero can hold six guests comfortably in three luxury cabins aboard the yacht. Each cabin is beautifully designed using the finest wood for paneling, flooring and furniture. Each spacious cabin also has a large bed and full bathroom attached, and also features state-of-the-art amenities.
The deck facilities also offer a few entertainment options. The inside dining hall is large and features a beautifully crafted wooden table with two separate chairs at the head and wraparound seating attached to the wall. This space saving design is practical and allows for more room for the guests.
There’s also an entertainment deck aboard Bolero, featuring a satellite TV system, stereo system, and much more. Bolero also has a sun deck, saloon and many other features on board to provide guests with the ultimate sailing experience around the Caribbean or Mediterranean.
