In Sin City, its not a far leap to assume that the V in Vegas could easily stand for Variety. After all, this is the city that declared gambling wasnt enough of a guilty pleasure to keep people coming back. So they equipped the city with $5 pig-out buffets, legal brothels, the all-night liquor stores and, of course, the lively shows to keep you entertained.

Dont let anyone tell you different, Vegas is all about variety. Speaking of variety, Planet Hollywood currently has the aptly titled V playing in their V theater. Vegas loves that V, apparently.

The Miracle Mile Malls theater inside of Planet Hollywood is called V, and V: The Ultimate Variety Show is its namesake production. Many Las Vegas shows at other hotels and casinos stick with a certain theme. For instance, Cirque du Soleil has their acrobatics. Sin City Bad Girls have their rock tunes and bare breasts.

V has a wide ranging scope of the most talented amateurs around showing their skills in the citys largest variety show. To the frequenter of Vegas entertainment, some of the acts may not seem overly original. V pulls in talent, no matter where they play. This means that someone on the stage at V may have their own show at another hotel. It all depends on whos hot and whos not.

V is very original in that its success isnt at all dependent on the sum of its parts. The show is broken down into many different parts. Its a win-win for the minds that put this together (long before PH did it, of course).

If an aspect of the show tanks, kick that person off and replace them with someone who wont. If the acts do well, then its the show and ultimately the casino thats receiving the praise through revenue. The only way V could ever be a disaster is if the talent refused to perform on stage.

However, there is a solid core of talent in V. This isnt to say that they wouldnt or couldnt be replaced if their performances started to slip. It just means that the core guys are the originals and the outside talent goes through a rotation. You can think of it as Saturday Night Live to get the proper picture.

In the end, however they decide to do it or whoever they bring in to assist in the show, any attendee can be guaranteed to find variety around every turn. Its never a dull moment with V, and thats exactly what they intended.

What kind of variety can you expect to get out of V? Its billed as the ultimate variety show due to the encompassing nature of it all. If you like singing, then you better believe that Vegas best will be there to croon your socks off. Oh, a magic fan, huh? Well, youll be dazzled by both big illusions and tiny traditional tricks. There are also balancing acts, comedy routines, a lively emcee to yell and scream and keep you amped up, and so much more.

Its hard to say a bad thing about V, because theres nothing there to say a bad thing about. Its basically a stage name and a venue for the best entertainers in Vegas to do what they do and dazzle you into giving them money.
