Top Vegas Shows - Scarlett And Her Seductive Ladies Of Magic

The world of magic is mostly dominated by men. Now, this isn't a slight to the fairer species; it's just how it happened out. When magicians became popular and accepted (as in, not burned at the stake), the world attitude of women was that their place was better suited in the home or as mere sexual objects.
Well, women have proven this to be a false premise, and the Las Vegas show Scarlett and Her Seductive Ladies of Magic proves that women can handle themselves in the decidedly male world of magic. However, the gratuitous nudity may suggest that being desired and thought of as a sex object couldn't hurt things too badly.
After a successful run with a family friendly show at Planet Hollywood's V Theater, Scarlett decided to take the step and incorporate nudity into her performance. The Riviera magic/nude entertainment show runs on a relatively simple premise. A single-named performer, Scarlett, performs run-of-the-mill magic tricks as her nude assistants - and some other nude women along the way - help out.
One may think that the show is but a blatant attempt to pull in viewers using nude women to sell tickets. After all, the Riviera is often thought of as the last dying casino in Las Vegas. And not to mention, many show-goers seem to come away feeling less than enthusiastic about the show as a whole.
However, this is often attributed to the overall culture - symptomatic of a dying Vegas in general, a place where tickets must be discounted and performers must take pay cuts in order to stay afloat.
It's not like that all over the city; don't get it twisted. Even during a recession period in the country, many aspects of Vegas - and many of Vegas' prime shows - still do extremely well.
Scarlett and her Seductive Ladies of Magic is a middling show in terms of success, but it does have its fair share of bright points. For starters, it is actually a well-directed production, giving attendees a little bit of value to compensate for the lack of skillful magic.
Another strong selling point would be the aforementioned nudity. There's nothing like a display of nude women to bring the guys out in droves. Whether or not they pay attention to the magic is another story entirely.
Critics of Scarlett's performance cite her inability to connect with the audience. Some claim she's a little too stiff in her movements, a little too rehearsed in her words and actions, and a little too amateurish to hold down top billing as a Vegas magician. However, fans of the show sing a different tune, citing that the tricks were entertaining and well handled, to be what they were: fodder in between breast showings.
Scarlett's show isn't exactly a Vegas original. It has been tried before with the Showgirls of Magic. Showgirls experienced mild success, but it cannot be directly compared with Scarlett's rendition of sexy magic. All in all, the adult crowd, looking for some nude entertainment, should find that Scarlett and her Seductive Ladies of Magic is an entertaining show that brings a bit of comedy and a lot of unpretentious behavior to the dry climate.
