Dozens of things to do in Las Vegas means there is fun for the entire family not just those with blue hair. Traditionally, Las Vegas is known for a mixed bag of things to do including getting married, getting divorced, gambling and watching a few of the headline entertainers at a floor show. That has all changed now and changed for the better. Here are some tips for enjoying Las Vegas with the entire family:
1. Gamble
A major activity in Las Vegas will always be gambling. Everything from slot machines to World Class Poker Tournaments can be found in the 24 hour day casino hotels.
2. Gambling classes
If you don't know your way around a deck of cards or a roulette wheel, why not learn as part of your activities in Las Vegas. Most of the large casinos will be happy to enroll you in a class to top off your knowledge of one or more of the games of chance.
3. Richard Petty Driving Experience
The famed NASCAR driver has set up a driving school in 25 locations around the country. For a student the opportunity to do a ride along for many laps of the experience of a race car driver is the rush of a lifetime.
4. Get married
Las Vegas is a fun and exciting way to experience a themed wedding at one of the many wedding chapels that can be found in the city. No matter whether this is a renewal of your wedding vows or the culmination of romantic first love, you'll love the chance to tie to knot in Vegas.
5. X-Scream at the Stratosphere
The world's eighth tallest building is the starting point for a dive into space from the observation platform. You and seven other passengers will dangle at 856 feet as if on a giant teeter totter.
6. Spa Day
Plan on spending a day at the Spa at the Treasure Island Hotel. This spa rivals those of the most luxurious spa resorts. Not only is there a state of the art exercise room, you can choose from a full array of services such as facials, full body massage, and pedicures.
7. Helicopter ride
How about a tour out over the Grand Canyon by helicopter? You fly in a luxury jet helicopter over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. Have a picnic lunch at the bottom of the Grand Canyon with none of the effort of a mule trip. Some tours combine helicopter and boat transportation.
8. Shark Reef
The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay Hotel is part themed decoration, part wild creature exhibit, and part aquarium. In addition to the live sharks that can be touched by visitors, there are jellyfish and a few crocodiles in a sunken temple theme.
9. Roller Coaster
The Manhattan Express Roller Coaster at the New York, New York Hotel features climbs and drops as well as a twist and dive maneuver. With top speeds up to 67 mph you will not want to take this ride on a full stomach.
10. Bellagio Fountains
The romantic lights and music of falling water is only matched by the romantic atmosphere of the Bellagio Fountains. The mist from the fountains is perfectly choreographed with lights and music and is free. If you combine a good seat at the Olive you can watch the dancing fountains with someone you care about.
