Top Restaurant Review - Gambero Rosso

Most of the food we eat today is based on Italian food in one way or another. Believe it or not, even French cuisine, Spanish, and that of the Japanese can find some strong roots in the techniques and ingredients of Ancient Rome. Modern Italian cuisine is a fusion of different parts of the old world.
China brought in the noodles, India brought the garlic, and time fused it all together and “Italian” then spread throughout the world. Today, Italian cuisine isn't the most popular worldwide, but restaurants like Gambero Rosso in Italy are quickly working to change that.
Unless you've eaten at Gambero Rosso, it's hard to describe the elegance of the restaurant and the surrounding area. As most can imagine - and as the lucky know - Italy's beauty is second-to-none. San Vincenzo, in the province of Livorno (Tuscany), plays host to Gambero Rosso.
The restaurant sits next to the harbor and overlooks the beautiful sea. The weather, scenery, smells and sounds are all incredible and form a perfect ambiance for a world-class Italian restaurant. Gambero's head chef, Fulvio Pierangelini, is a world-renowned Italian master who is famed for being able to cook a simple anchovy over 100 separate ways.
Any visitor of Italy would be extremely hard-pressed to find a better location for a restaurant, much less a restaurant serving better food than Gambero Rosso. Vernazza's harbor-side is only a part of the experience, however. The restaurant's menu is updated daily and Pierangelini's personal preferences and available ingredients dictate your choices from the a la carte menu.
You can enjoy such dishes as the ravioli di pesci (fish), muscoli ripieni (mussels), and the grigliata mista when available. The restaurant's stone walls and stone floors are just what you'd expect the best of Italy of look like, and the wonderful food is far more than you'd expect it to taste like.
Gambero Rosso is also known for an extensive wine selection. Italy, being one of the world's foremost producers of wine, lends its regional selections to the restaurant regularly. Whether you're after something vintage and expensive or fresh and tasty, Gambero Rosso carries something that will compliment your meal perfectly. Surprisingly, the prices at the restaurant are in the medium range in terms of the “world's best.” A lot of restaurants with such notoriety would easily cost thousands for a couple's night of eating and drinking. Perhaps the rustic and local food helps to keep the range down.
The restaurant is recognized at the 12th best in the world according to Restaurant Magazine's list of the World's 50 Best Restaurants. The magazine is one of Great Britain's leading publications in the realm of food and wine. Depending on the season, you may or may not need to make a reservation to be seated at Gambero Rosso. Some are able to get in without problem, while others find a months-long waiting list.
