Located at 20 Portman Square in London, England, the Home House private members club is a truly traditional yet unique establishment that offers the ultimate in luxury, security and privacy to its guests and members. Home House is actually a grouping of three buildings that were designed by Robert Adam and James Wyatt.
The buildings, though similar, contrast in various ways. There's a unique mix of 18th century architecture and twenty-first century style working together to make Home House stand out. The club claims that their atmosphere is perfect for relaxation, working, sleeping and socializing.
For guests and members planning to stay the night in Home House, they find the establishment isn't like the run-of-the-mill hotels out there. The 20 rooms in Home House are designed to give guests the ultimate in comfort. True to its name, Home House actually feels like home.
All rooms are located in the main house, which overlooks Portman Square, the gardens, and other beautifully landscaped features. Each room of the club is furnished differently, but all retain the eighteenth century style. Each room is also fitted to certain standards, including a handmade king-sized bed, bathrooms with double basins, AC, a mini bar, telephone, internet access, a personal safe, office, and much more.
There's also a world-class gym and spa area at Home House. Not only is it one of the club's best features, but the gym is considered one of the best in London. The spa atmosphere provides the perfect getaway for those who love being pampered and keeping up with their exercise.
All members can take advantage of their own personal trainer, or use the latest training equipment provided by the gym. The gym features running platforms, stepping machines, boxing rooms, fixed and free weights, and other up-to-date features.
For thirsty guests of Home House, there are two separate bars on the grounds. The first, The Bison Bar, is a classic bar that looks more like a library than a pub. Its fine Persian rugs and post artwork make it stand out as uniquely elegant. There are also three big-screen televisions in the bar, so it has the capability of becoming a fancy sports bar.
The House Bar is a new addition to the club. Whereas Bison is classic, House Bar was designed to be the ultimate contrast. This modern bar is a favorite destination of Home House guests.
In building No 19, the club's restaurant is the perfect place to grab a good meal while staying at Home House. The views looking out on Portman Square are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is strictly fine-dining. The walls are lined with saffron silk and the Victorian portraits add a museum-like quality that contrasts the modern menu.
Although Home House is a classy establishment, their memberships are not reserved for the rich. Applicants aren't subjected to interviews and review panels. Instead, the members look over the applications and usually give their answer within weeks.
