The Las Vegas Mob Experience at the Tropicana

For a superb lesson in the history of the Mob then the Las Vegas Mob Experience at the Tropicana is one of the best experiences that a visitor will ever have the chance of getting involved in. This interactive experience takes the visitor from the days of Prohibition to Las Vegas and demonstrates the dramatic downfall of the Mafia in a way that will leave them speechless.
Using the most up to date technology that makes each visitors experience unique you can choose which celebrity guide will escort you through the exhibition so whether you would like Mickey Rourke or Tony Sirico as a guide it is up to you to decide making the whole process really personal.
Your guide will take you through a maze of alley ways that lead to a door that leads you into a Speakeasy and then a warehouse that has a hidden exit. You get to play a role through the entire tour and can choose to answer questions and make decisions on whether to join a gang or ‘rat’ on the wise guys who approach you by pointing them out to a cop down the street.
The central exhibit hall offer information, artifacts and memorabilia of well known American gangsters and many families donated these to the LVME for the exhibition. Added to this there is a small movie theatre where you can view some of the most famous gangster movies like ‘The Godfather’.
Stories of the Mob have fascinated people throughout time and this exhibition gives anyone who is intrigued by the rise and fall of the ‘ Mafia families’ the chance to be thrilled by the whole 45 minute experience as they stroll through the halls with their selected virtual guides.
As the exhibit progresses through the creation of the Las Vegas mobsters to the last days of the Mafia’s power there is a section that is dedicated to two powerful men, Anthony Spiroltro and Frank ‘Lefty’ Rosenthal after which the visitor will decide on the ending of their tour themselves. It could be a ‘shoot out’, or the visitor may get ‘whacked’ whatever ending will be as surprising as the real-life mobsters endings were back in the old days.
Although the LVME exposes the whole truth about the Mafia in Las Vegas it does not glorify or vilify organized crime as it existed. It offers a clear historical picture of the lives of some of the most ruthless men that descended on the town and what effect it had of the lives of many other people’s ordinary lives. It gives the visitor the chance of deciding for themselves how they feel about the period of American history of Mafia control in Las Vegas.
To date the LVME has experience a few technical issues with its high tech imagery that brings the virtual side of it to life but these are being worked on and soon it is promised that everything will be up and running making the whole experience one that a visitor will never forget.
