The Bellagio 'O' by Cirque du Soleil

Translating to Circus of the Sun, Cirque du Soleil is an entertainment empire based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was founded in 1984 by two former street performers, Guy Laliberte, and Daniel Gauthier. The original name was Les Echassiers, and they toured Quebec in 1980 as a performing troupe.
Le Grand Tour Du Cirque du Soleil was a success in 84, and after securing a second year of funding, Laliberte hired Buy Caron from the National Circus School to recreate Cirque du Soleil as a proper circus. Their popular rapidly grew, and Cirque du Soleil went from a handful of employees in 1984, to over 3,500 today. Among their Big Top Touring shows are Alegria, Quidam, Dralion, Varekai, Corteo, and KOOZA. The list of resident shows includes LOVE, KA, Mystere, La Nouba, Zumanity, and the show currently featured at the Bellagio, simply titled “O”
This wild show was inspired by the idea of infinity and the pure, continuous shape of the letter “O.” The name of the show sounds similar to the French word “eau” meaning water, which is also the show's overall theme. The specious theater at the Bellagio is completely packed with red seats, and some very dramatic red curtains. The ceiling is an amazing water-blue. When the show begins, the color scheme is amazing, brining the performers to life in vivid detail.
Like other Cirque du Soleil shows, O presents a blend of various performers, all with a gifted skill-set. With O, the mix includes stunning aerial acts, clowns, fire-jugglers, and a selection of swimmers and divers. During the production, the performers resemble brightly-colored dolphins, and bring the idea of water to life with their wonderful performance. Real-life water is exactly what you get with this show. One minute the state is completely dry, the next minute the curtain draws to reveal a stage covered in water deep enough for the performers to dive in. In fact, the state itself can be considered a true star of the show.
The only real downside to this show is you may not like it as much if you've seen other Cirque du Soleil shows. Though, most people who attend this show don't seem to mind that the acts seem to be a bit outdated. The ambiance is absolutely stunning, and the performers are right on queue when it comes to their acrobatic acts. The music and visual affects all work together to give this show some killer appeal.
Over 1 million gallons of water are used for each production. Another slight disadvantage of the show is how much it costs to get in. Tickets for this show aren't like the circus you went to as a kid. The cheapest seat you will get here is $93.50. Other tickets are available for $99.00, $125, and $150. All tickets exclude the 10% Live Entertainment Tax, and the $3.50 per ticket processing fee. So that $93.00 (for a seat way back in the theater) becomes around $109.
But if you're already in Vegas, it sure beats playing a game of blackjack or roulette. When you pay to see Cirque du Soleil, you always come out a winner.
