Fiji is one of the world’s finest destinations in terms of island resorts. Off the coast of one of the chain’s larger islands, Naviti, you can find the small private island of Narara – a one-of-a-kind forested island surrounded by white-sand beaches and perfect for a resort. Narara Island is part of the Yasawa Group of islands, and there are six islands and inlets throughout the area.

This group of islands is highly sought after. The biggest problem here for private islands is that the entire world is still suffering through recession. Short of that, Narara Island is one of the most popular and talked about private islands in the world today, due to its prime location and potential for building.

Fiji doesn’t look like a large location on a globe or world map, but with its Pacific location, the country is spread out over a few different areas with varying weather patterns. Narara Island is located in a drier part of the area, with only a few days of bad weather per year. This means that the majority of the time on the island will grant sunny skies and cool ocean breezes.

Narara Island is still unspoiled in terms of mass development. This means that the original white-sand beaches are pristine and the nature-made lagoons and caves and other areas of the island are 100% natural and, in some minds, priceless.

The leg-shaped island appears to be a lot larger than it is due to the natural wooded areas and untouched greenery. In total, there’s over 112 acres of viable land on the island, not even including the beach areas. The entire island isn’t prime land for building, however. A few large hilltops could be an obstacle for any developers looking to create a resort.

Four other islands in the group have resort accommodations already with a loyal vacationer base: Navutu Stars Resort, Turtle Island, Yasawa Lodge, and Nanuya Island Resort. The seller’s hope is to make Narara the fifth resort island of the group.

One of the biggest obstacles people find in traveling is a direct route to the island. However, because Narara Island is surrounded by occupied islands, transportation is not a problem. A helicopter or plane ride to the island only takes around 20 minutes from nearby Denarau Island, and you can take marine transfer from Yasawa.

As far as pricing details, the seller is keeping the information hidden at the current time. However, a similar island of 50 acres is currently for sale for only a few million dollars, meaning that Narara Island probably isn’t going to be in excess of $12 million.
