Private Islands for Rent - Buck Island in Caribbean

The Caribbean Sea might be riddled with multiple small islands, but they’re certainly not a dime a dozen. Some of the world’s most luxurious private homes and resorts are situated on these islands, and Buck Island, a sprawling forested mass with white-sand beaches and rocky cliffs, is one of the Caribbean’s most noted private islands for rent at the current time.
Buck Island is part of the British Virgin Islands chain in the Caribbean. In total, Buck Island is a 43-acre piece of land with 1.3 acres on the nearby Tortola. The shape of the island is quite different than others to be found in the Caribbean. The main house and other buildings are situated atop of a cliff, with the backside of the island being forested.
There are three large hills on Buck Island, one holding the main house and others offering up the natural habitat. Each hill provides full panoramic views of the Caribbean, and there is also plenty of flat land on the island for future homes and/or buildings to go up.
The location of Buck Island is also an attractive part of the package for potential buyers or vacationers. Buck Island is located directly beside one of the world’s most prominent deep-sea fishing habitats in the middle of the Sir Francis Drake Channel. Apart from being a great location to fish, the channel is also a protected yachting ground.
Anyone wealthy enough to rent/own Buck Island probably also owns a yacht. This is the perfect location for yacht enthusiasts (sailing yachts especially). Because of Buck Island’s location, it lies right in the path of the continuous easterly trade winds.
The face of the biggest hill, where the houses are located, is just a rocky cliff, but the beautiful white-sand beaches are located on either side of the island. These beaches are truly one-of-a-kind and offer a wide range of water activities, like jet and boat skiing, snorkeling, swimming, fishing and much more. There’s a clubhouse and sports hut located on the beach, too.
Due to the island setting, you’ll find extensive dock and marine facilities on Buck Island. Unless you’re landing a helicopter on the island, a boat is the only way to gain access. So the docking facility is quite large and even features a two bedroom house and gatehouse at the land base.
The huge house atop the hill was a real task to complete. Construction wrapped up on the island’s mansion in 2006, and although it’s a Caribbean-style old-world house, it still features modern, state-of-the-art amenities. The builders spared no expense in equipping the main house with every conceivable luxury.
Around the house, you’ll find beautifully landscaped gardens, various paths, an outdoor activity area with swimming pools, and much more. Inside the house, the furnishings accent the stone and wood interior perfectly. The high ceilings and large windows offer an open and airy feel, but the colors of the walls and stone and wood flooring also makes it feel quaint and cozy.
Prices range for a week’s stay on this private island, but you can expect to pay a minimum of $50,000 for the opportunity.
