Luxury Yacht Sales Review for Fleurtje
![]()

With so many motor yachts out there on the waters, classic schooners are usually the last types of yachts to make front-page news when it comes to selling. Then again, not every yacht is the impressive Amsterdamsche Scheepswerf-built Fleurtje. This 187-foot master of the seas is a testament to true craftsmanship and has a priceless old-world look and feel.
Over the past two decades, Fleurtje has been completely rebuilt and modernized for the type of market purchasing yachts today. This includes a refitting, redecoration, and much more. Since the yacht was always private, it doesn’t have the everyday wear and tear of a charter vessel. This is a strong point of interest for anyone interested in purchasing Fleurtje.
In 1985, Fleurtje’s owner decided that it was time to expand the living space aboard the large vessel. She had the construction team add lavish guest cabins to the yacht, bringing the total number to 6. Each guest cabin was completely refurbished with new wood and gold trimming. Many other features were also overhauled, including the upper/lower decks and the entire hull.
Overall, the end result speaks for itself. Fleurtje is a one-of-a-kind three-masted schooner, with the size and design features that yacht enthusiasts dream about. Also, compared to some of the other motor yachts out there, Fleurtje is a lot cheaper. $14.75 million isn’t pocket change, to be sure, but it’s a far cry from the 40-million-plus asking price of other yachts with lesser features.
The Fleurtje was originally built way back in 1960. The yacht was ahead of its time back then in terms of features and deck layout, but each new owner of Fleurtje put his or her own personal touch on the yacht.
Up to 12 guests can fit comfortably on Fleurtje at a time. 3 of the 6 cabins are doubles, with 2 single cabins and 1 twin. A few of the cabins have en suite bathrooms, and all have brand new furnishings, televisions and other amenities.
There’s also room aboard the yacht for up to 16 crew members. A yacht of this size needs every bit of manpower it can get. Sailing is no small feat, and sailing a 187-foot vessel correctly takes many skilled hands on deck to ensure things go smoothly in the harshest of conditions. Any potential buyer would need to factor this in to their decision making process.
There are literally too many features of this yacht to name off. The large upper deck has a double captain’s cabin, a spacious dining/entertainment area, a sundeck, and much more. The kitchen and cabins below were designed with space in mind, leaving plenty of room to get around without feeling cramped. They even made room for a wine cellar aboard Fleurtje.
There aren’t a whole lot of schooner-style yachts on the market boasting this many features. In this economy, it’s hard to say how long it will stay on the market – but whoever purchases Fleurtje is purchasing a quality vessel.
