Le Reve at the Wynn Las Vegas

Meaning “The Dream” in French, Le Reve was the first-ever production show to open in the Wynn Las Vegas casino resort. This ultra-lavish show is held in a one-million-gallon capacity theater and hosts an array of diving and other spectacular displays of acrobatics and special effects.
The show was created by internationally acclaimed director Franco Dragone. The aquatic in-the-round dome theater makes sure that no audience member is more than 40-feet from the stage during the show, enabling every participant to witness the close-up action. There are probably better shows playing in Vegas, but Le Reve is definitely worth seeing.
First off, the domed theater just looks spectacular. Le Reve strikes you immediately as one-of-a-kind, but it's also blended with a little Cirque de Soleil. So it only makes sense that any Cirque lovers would absolutely adore this show. You will also be taken aback at just how intimate the setting is.
The action is eye-popping and directly in your face at all times. The vast amounts of water and the various actors seem to meld into one shape and move so fluently throughout the entirety of the show. To say that it's well choreographed is an understatement.
Perhaps the best thing that Dragone did when creating this show was bring in world-class athletes. Unlike a showgirl's production where the skinniest dancers are thrown out on stage with costumes, the Le Reve performers are all Olympic caliber athletes.
The show is frequently sold out, and when you arrive to see it, the line is buzzing with eagerness. Being a Steve Wynn show, the word gets around quickly. If you want a good seat, your best bet would be to go online and order in advance. You can pick up a ticket for $99, $125, or $179 - all prices includes tax.
When the water catches on fire and a Satan-like figure emerges, the crowd seems to climb to the edge of their seats with anticipation. The angels begin to soar and the most elegant showdown between good and evil electrifies everyone attending.
When you start to focus on the show, you really feel like you've had this “dream” before. In fact, many people come away from the show talking about the déjà vu they've experienced. It's a dream-like production with a spooky underlined theme.
There are a few negatives about the show, however. First and foremost, it's a little pricy to be so close to the action. The ironic part about it: You actually get to take more of the show in from a higher row. Sitting directly up front is like putting your face up to the front of a big screen TV - you're bound to miss something with tunnel vision. Also, it's a bit on the “outlandish” side if you're looking for an actual plot. But other than those few quirks, it's an excellent show that everyone should see when in Vegas.
