If you’re planning on making the trip to Las Vegas to visit a casino, you’re more than likely going to have to leave the kids at home. Casinos just aren’t kid-friendly places, and even many of the the Vegas shows are far too risqué for anyone under 18 years of age. However, Sam’s Town Casino offers a unique family-friendly experience with their Mystic Falls Park indoor extravaganza.
It’s a hard task describing the Mystic Falls Park in accurate detail with just simple words. It’s really something you have to see in the flesh to appreciate. The sites and sounds and the surreal climate of the indoor park offer an experience that simply cannot be recreated.
Finding Sam’s Town Casino is an easy task. When you’re in Vegas, The Strip stands out as the city’s centerpiece; and to get to Sam’s Town, simply turn west for six miles on Boulder Highway and you can’t miss this large and unique casino nestled in the shadow of the Sunrise Mountains. The resort has 646 rooms and suites, a casino and plenty of other options like the event center and buffet.
Walking into the Mystic Falls Park is like you’re stepping into a Hollywood movie. Imagine Jumanji or the Jungle Book coming to life in the lobby of a huge luxury hotel. That’s basically what it looks and feels like. Mystic Falls is a nine-story open room with a glass roof and 25,000 square feet of space.
It’s not just an open venue with skylights, however; you’ll find plenty of live trees in there, as well as waterfalls, footpaths and other features that make you feel as if you’re out in the middle of nature. The openness and lighting of it all is dreamlike, and the birds, bears, squirrels and wolves transform Mystic Park into a miniature zoo.
While you’re strolling through the indoor park, everything seems calm and serene. You can enjoy the sounds of nature, the cooling effects of the waterfall, and just enjoy the surroundings. However, every two hours the Sunset Stampede starts.
The Sunset Stampede is a unique part of Mystic Falls Park. At the beginning of the show, you’ll hear a wolf’s howl and the music goes dramatic, the lights dim and the entire mood of the park changes. The small mountain inside of the park comes to life and, with the help of laser lights, video and audio, the Sunset Stampede begins.
Basically, the Sunset Stampede is a feature that chronicles the Western pioneer experience and gives it a very dramatic effect. People of all ages are enthralled by this bihourly show at Mystic Falls Park, and the lights and animation features rival anything you’d find on The Strip.
Whether you’re coming for the Sunset Stampede portion of the show, Mystic Falls Park itself or simply to play in the casino, Sam’s Town is one of the few places in Las Vegas that offers up fun for the whole family.
