Grand Canyon West Rim Day Trip by Coach, Helicopter and Boat with Optional Skywalk

The Grand Canyon is one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders that attract millions of visitors every year. The massive gorge that the Colorado River has formed stretches 500 miles long, most of which is underneath Lake Powel, and the best place to visit the gorge is in the Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. Although there are various places to visit such as the South and West Rim, the proximity of the West Rim to Las Vegas makes it the ideal location.
The West Rim is on the Hualapai Indian reservation which covers a large area of the Canyon at its deepest point of around 5000 feet and 20 miles wide. The Indian tribe have made this into a tourist attraction with an airfield, visitor centre and ranch that offer over night accommodation. The West Rim is a 2 hour drive down route 93 from Las Vegas or a 15 minute flight by helicopter.
There are various tour operators offering different packages to the Grand Canyon but a general day trip will consist of; pick up from your Las Vegas hotel, coach ride to the West Rim, helicopter ride down to the Grand Canyon basin, boat trip down the Colorado River, helicopter ride back up the walls of the Grand Canyon and a shuttle tour along to Guano Point and Eagle Point. At Eagle point you can see an original Hualapai Indian village and buy any Indian handmade crafts as souvenirs.
Once you have taken in the breath taking sights from Eagle Point it will be time to head off to the Native Range for some lunch. Expect a huge cook up, cowboy style at the Ranch where you can reminisce on the days’ events. After relaxing for a while you will be taken back to your Las Vegas hotel by luxury coach.
If you want to stay over at the West Ranch then you can meet real cowboys, go on wagon rides and take part in the lively cowboy style evening entertainment. Plenty of dancing and partying under the stars, then an overnight sleep in one of the log cabins with a breath taking morning view of the West Rim Canyon.
You can choose to add the Sky Walk to your tour which is a plate glass constructed walk way 4000 feet above the Colorado River. The Sky Walk stretches 70 feet out in a horseshoe to give you the feeling of being suspended over the Canyon; the panoramic views are something that you will not forget in a hurry and pictures can be purchased in the gift shop.
The Grand Canyon West Rim day trip really is a must for anyone visiting Las Vegas, from travelling on the luxury air conditioned coach to the six seated panoramic viewed helicopter. The boat trip cruising along the monstrous walls of the Grand Canyon and the cowboy lunch experience is all part of the excellent service you can expect to receive with this money well spent tour.
