Closing a Chapter on the 1980s, the 1990 Ferrari F40 Classic

The 1990 Ferrari F40 classic is not any ordinary sports car. Though it exhibits the same familiarities found in most sports cars, this model is widely known to have revolutionized the car-making industry and has often been touted as the catalyst for the future success of Scuderia Ferrari. The brainchild of Enzo Ferrari before his death in 1988, this supercar is known for its aerodynamics design which was then underutilised in the car industry.

At first glance, the F40 is like any other sports car during its generation; a Berlinetta with a really loud engine. However, the design itself is not for eyes only; it combines the use of lightweight materials and aerodynamics to enhance its performance.
 
Pirinfarina, a car design firm and long time collaborator of Ferrari was enlisted to design the build. The key was to make the supercar as lightweight as possible so Pirinfarina used Kevlar and steel for the chassis; carbon fibre and aluminium to make the body of the vehicle. These composite materials are really strong yet lightweight.

Classic Cars 1975 Lamborghini Countach

When it comes to classic cars, 1975 Lamborghini Countach is one of the most iconic cars of all time and it is clear to see why. With its angular, wedged shape and sharp lines it looked like a car from the future rather than one that was designed back in 1975. Production of this car lasted until 1990 which meant that for this car was produced for a staggering 25 years.

In addition to its spectacular design another thing that set the 1975 Lamborghini Countach apart from many of its counterparts was its speed. With top speeds of almost 200 miles per hour it was hailed as one of the fastest cars of its time. Add to this the fact that even at the top speed the ride is comfortable and you can see why the 1975 Lamborghini Countach was in production for so many years.

This car also incorporates the unique rear view ‘Periscope’ mirror which is set into a depression that is in the roof which can clearly be seen from the exterior of the car. Mirrors like this are only seen on a handful of car designs which helps to make the 1975 Countach even more popular. In fact since 1975 there have only been around 10 cars that have used this kind of mirror placement in their design.

Classic Cars 1961 Studebaker Silver Hawk

Studebaker cars were some of the most popular types of car in the US in the 1950s thanks to their performance and looks. The 1961 Studebaker Silver Hawk was a car that had evolved from the Starlite design of 1953 which was a coupe that was a very popular car in its own right. By 1962 production of the Silver Hawk had ceased, giving way to the Hawk Gran Turismo which was in production for just over 12 months.

As you would think from classic cars, 1961 Studebaker Silver Hawk had features that made it an iconic car of its time and one that was instantly recognisable. One of these features on the Silver Hawk was a tail fin that made it look even longer and sleeker than previous models. In fact when many people think of cars with a 1950s or 1960s design this is the kind of car that they think of.

Unusually for many classic cars, 1961 Studebaker Silver Hawk was very reasonably priced which was what made it even more popular with many people. Studebaker had realised that the time was right to produce cheaper car than what was on the market at the time. This was a decision that certainly paid off as the car was very successful.

The 1967 Aston Martin DBS Car A Beauty on Wheels

The original Aston Martin DBS or the 1967 Aston Martin was the first along the line of luxury cars manufactured by the Aston Martin Lagonda. The number 1967 signifies the year that the car was built in.

The DBS or the 1967 was succeeded by the Aston Martin DB6. The car has a stylish rear end and front protective metal grill and attractive steel veneer and wire wheels. The DBS also has a powerful 4.0 L DOHC I6 engine that gives a power of 283 bhp at 5500 rpm and 390.5 N-m torque at 3850 rpm.

It is a 2-door coupe and the front engine has a configuration of 4.0 liters and DOHC I6. It boasts of a power of 283 bhp at 5500 rpm with a torque of 390.5 N-m torque at 3850 rpm. In addition, the transmission is manual at 5-speed. In terms of the dimensions, the car sits on top of the wheelbase at 2610 mm and has four wheel disc brakes which provide the car with a strong stopping power. The width of the car is 1830 mm, the length is 4585 mm. It is 1330 mm high and weighs approximately 3500 lbs.
