Jacqueline Mars, born in the United States and one of three siblings of the late Forrest Mars is the heiress to her Grandfather's confectionary company. Whenever you bite into a Mars Bar, Milky Way, Twix or Snickers you can think of Jacqueline Mars grandfather Frank Mars who founded the company in 1911. When the siblings inherited the Mars Corporation there was talk that the three would sell the company and live a wealthy life off the proceeds.
Jacqueline Mars, who is now twice divorced with three children, took the bull by the horns with her brothers and continued the growth and development of the company. Although she could have lived happily on the sale of her inheritance, today she is worth an estimated $14 billion dollars from her own driving efforts. She was profiled by Forbes as being in the top 50 on the world's rich list and at 68 years old the 4th richest woman in the world.
Jacqueline maintained the title of Corporate Vice President of Mars Inc with her siblings John Franklin Mars and Forrest Edward Mars Jr. as joint CEO'S. The drive that Jacqueline Mars had to expand the company led the corporation to include big pet food names such as; Pedigree and Whiskers and later Uncle Ben's rice.
With the accomplishments that Jacqueline had made it is no wonder that she has now taken a step back from the corporate life, leaving her two brothers to do most of the work. She has a great passion for the equestrian life and owns a reported 15 horses of her own plus a handful of competition horses that are rode by professional champion riders such as; David and Karen O'Conner.
As Vice President of the U.S. Equestrian team and her involvement in the National Sporting Library she has plenty to keep her busy and away from the candy making problems that her brothers seems to have caused at the family business. None the less Jacqueline has her passions and plays active rolls in her charities by donating large sums to organisations like the outback Doctors of Australia.
Jacqueline Mars made major headlines in 1994 when she divorced her husband Harold Vogel. Harold had signed a prenuptial agreement that he then tried to fight in court claiming that Jacqueline had not been honest about her assets when they married. This court battle set about a chain reaction that has steadily unseated Mars from the top spot of candy production, when its very secret financial capacity was beginning to come to light.
Jacqueline's siblings have been secretly at war to gain control of the company which has lead to many key executives leaving and the company dwindling in market direction. Their slightly eccentric leadership has seen the company making millions of dollars worth of losses in the past year. The divorce of Forrest Jr. from his wife has Lead to a very expensive settlement and a split in the companies ranks causing a further slip in the corporations market value.
