A special preview of Quantum of Solace

Quantum of Solace, the 22nd spy film in the James Bond catalog, is due for release in the United Kingdom on October 31st, 2008. It is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Casino Royale, in which Bond, played flawlessly by Daniel Craig, had to infiltrate a high-stakes poker game to apprehend a world-renowned terrorist.
Casino Royale won critics over partly by telling the story of how James Bond became 007. Through numerous bond films and multiple characters playing the role, viewers of the series were never granted access into Bond's personal love life. Though there had always been the evident Bond-girl, there was never a story about why James Bond never fell in love. In Casino Royale, the viewers see that Bond was betrayed and turned cold-hearted by his girlfriend, Vesper Lynd, played by Eva Green.
This sequel delves deeper into Bond's beginnings as a super-agent. After his initial break from love in the first film, Quantum of Solace picks up exactly one hour after the first ended. Bond is colder in this film and seems to have a taste for revenge.
The writer of the film Paul Haggis said that Bond will be a very human and flawed assassin. More like a man who has to navigate a morally complex and often cynical world while attempting to gauge what is right and wrong. Craig's performance earned very high regard as being the best Bond character since Sean Connery.
In July 2006, as Casino Royale wrapped and entered post-production, EON Productions announced Bond 22 would be based on an original idea by producer Michael G. Wilson. A back-story had already been written for Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, regarding Vesper Lynd and her Algerian boyfriend.
Michael G. Wilson confirms that the film continues an hour after Casino Royale's conclusion, when Mr. White is hot and captured by Bond at Lake Como. Bond is then involved in a car chase which takes place in Siena, Italy. The official synopsis shows that White reveals to Bond and M that his organization, Quantum, has agents located within Her Majesty's Government and the Central Intelligence Agency.
Forensic evidence of an MI6 traitor leads Bond to Haiti, where he meets Camille, who helps him to find Dominic Greene, a ruthless businessman and chairman of Green Planet, a legitimate cover for Quantum. Greene intends to use his government contacts to help overthrow the current regime in Bolivia, and place the exiled General Medrano as the new head of state.
Medrano will give him a barren a piece of land in exchange. This piece of land will in turn give Greene total control of the nation's water supply. Bond travels to Austria and South America to unravel Greene's plan, making sure to stay one step ahead of the CIA, terrorists, and M while trying to keep his desire for revenge over Vesper's death at bay.
Among some of the notable cast are Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Gemma Arterton, Judi Dench, Jeffrey Wright, Giancarlo Giannini, Stana Katic, Jesper Christensen, Neil Jackson, Oona Chaplin, Joaquin Cosio, Rory Kinnear, and Glenn Foster. Some experts already project that Quantum of Solace will out-gross the previous Bond film. Amy Winehouse is supposedly taking the reigns for this features theme song.
