Choosing whether a place is your cup of tea before you've seen it can be tough, so here is a short review of Los Angeles, CA, to help you decide if it's for you.
LA has got to be one of the trendiest cities in the world, set in the beautiful state of California in the US. It's packed border to border with daydreamers in search of their big break, since it's home to the world's most famous neighbourhood -- Hollywood.
And it doesn't end there. It also houses the wonderfully wealthy neighbourhood's of Beverly Hills where many of the Hollywood celebs have made over sized mansions their homes, and Bel Air, the famous set of the Fresh Prince.
There is so much to see and do here that it's just not possible to get bored. With some of America's finest beaches within close range such as Malibu, and the first ever Disneyland Resort, this place is a true gem for sun-worshippers and adventurers alike.
Some of the most famous beaches include Santa Monica which is a great beach for sunbathing and swimming, and Venice City Beach with its well-known boardwalk.
The weather is fantastic here all year round with an average temperature of 24 degrees making it the perfect location for lounging about on the beautiful sands, although July and August can be a little too much for many as temperatures can get as high as 32 degrees centigrade.
You've all heard of the song "Hotel California" right? The Beverly Hills Hotel is the subject of this timeless track and it's right here in LA so you can pay that a visit during your stay too. Many other world renowned hotels line the boulevards such as The Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons.
More budget hotels are also available for those with a little less to spend, such as the Royal Pagoda Motel near Chinatown and The Economy Inn Hollywood, giving you the opportunity to explore the star studded city without breaking the bank.
With an array of top class restaurants you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to food. From Dan Tana's Italian, a hip hangout for the stars, to Tommy's in Santa Monica with a huge selection of burgers, there's something for everyone.
A lovely place to eat is at the Venice Beach and Boardwalk. With beautiful views over the crystal ocean, this is the perfect spot to enjoy a romantic meal at sunset.
There are plenty of sights to see including the Hollywood Museum housed in a beautiful 1920s art deco building. It's filled with costumes and set props from all your favourite movies and will keep you entertained for some time.
If that's not enough, there are also 3 aquariums, an observatory and six amusement parks as well as a whole host of markets, marinas, film studios, and a cemetery with many VIP residents.
SO as you can see there is plenty for everyone, whether you want to relax, unwind and indulge in the fine cuisine, or pack in as many sights as your stay can accommodate. It's definitely somewhere you must visit once, even if it's just to say you've been here.
